I picked up my 2013 Sonic from the dealership on Friday. I AM LOVING It!!!


MyLink, Onstar turn by turn, Onstar remote, remote start, USB, and bluetooth have all been tried out!

The car drives great, smooth and quiet. MyLInk it really fun, glad I upgraded. I'm totally into it.

I haven't had a new car in 10 years, so I'm still in a bit of shock that after a long 3 months I am driving the most amazing Topaz Blue, Automatic, Hatchback, with gray interior and mylink on the planet!:banana:

The trip was stressful and frustrating. I'm not excited to ever repeat it.

I do the love the car and am glad I built it to order. Jury is still out on whether any car is worth a nearly 3 month wait!

I can't decide if I like the way MyLink looks....

I do, It's hard to get a picture of it. It looks very nice in person, if you get a chance to see one on a Sonic or Spark, take a look. It looks nicer in the Sonic, because the interior is nicer than the Spark.

I will tell you that with my graphic design background, I am very in-tune ascetically. I look at the world in a very visual way & I'm very happy with the interior look of Sonic. Including the MyLink. But, everyone has their preferences. For example, I don't care for the exterior color of the car woven into the interior in the RS.

One thing the dealer did point out on the Sonic vs other MyLink vehicles, is the screen is easier to touch. The more expensive models of car have a lip that overhangs the top of the screen. The Sonic does not have that making it easier to switch between functions.

Does the groove under the MyLink do anything or is that for looks. It looks like a lip like it would flip up or something. (I am sure that is not true but curious if it does serve a function).

I hear ya! And your order proceeded smoother than some do. But it can be addictive so don't be surprised if a few or several years from now you start to think about doing it again.

It does not do anything, no flip.

Do yourself a favor and keep a microfiber cloth in the vehicle to clean the My Link Screen....

When the iPhone is connected via bluetooth, it does not allow change playlist changes via MyLink. When hooked up as an iPod, a playlist option appeared.

Iphones from apple will only allow playlist transfer via USB this is not a malfunction of the radio.... Androids I believe will allow the play list from bluetooth.

When connected as a Media device you can not link bluetooth as a phone with the same item as well if I remember correctly.

Response #1- That's the way the current radio works. Good info though.

Electronics Screen wipes/laptop wipes would probably be good. LCD cleaning wipes. all those similar products.

I was able to view a slideshow from a USB drive, but the movie wouldn't play. I need to remember to look up compatible formats.

Did I mention my first accessory? I installed myself-trust me it was not difficult! I bought the bin liners, which I call cubby protectors. They fit nice. Have one that I can't' figure out where it goes since all the cubbies are now protected. And they only come in black, which didn't thrill me since I have gray. But, it's hardly noticeable. So I will live...

I am beginning to think it has more to do with the bluetooth and the iphone vs apple itself. Either way it works via USB because the radio is accessing the songs directly like a computer drive.
