I’ve had my Chevy sonic for a little over a month now. When we first bought it the temperature light would come on for 5 seconds and go off. I always made sure to keep fluid in the radiator! Last week I was driving it home and the light came on, so I pulled over and steam came out from under the hood. The radiator busted! Fast forward to yesterday and today.... we have the radiator replaced with a new one, today we tried to drive it to get the alignment checkout out and we overheated again!!! The mechanic who put our new radiator in says the fan works and so does the water pump! I tried looking online for help but I can’t seem to find any kind of information on my car!! Can someone please help?!?

do you have any leaks?
colored smoke coming out of exhaust?
sometimes after a full drain you can get air pockets in the system.
the thermostat on these do break as they are electrically controlled.
if you know for certain the water pump is working and you have no type of leaks
imo it could be
thermostat or
radiator cap

Try the thermostat. IF it's backing up, it won't cool properly.
