Hello to everyone. I am new to this forum and I’m glad to have found it. I look forward to checking out everything that has been posted. Before I begin, I actually tried to search specifically for the question I’m about to post, but to no avail. If there was information and I missed it - sorry. That said, I have a 2019 Sonic Premiere which has performed flawlessly since I purchased it. At this point in time, I simply want to upgrade the suspension for a smoother ride - nothing more. Upon searching the internet, I’ve noticed many aftermarket companies do not go up to a 2019 model. And as far as the companies that do have suspension parts for my year, I really don’t know who to trust, in regards to the integrity of their equipment. That’s where you folks come in. I would truly appreciate any and every suggestion in this matter. Safe driving to all!

So anything after 2017-2020 sonic models are referred to as a gen 2 model. I believe the suspension and everything is mostly the same except the exterior was updated. In theory you can use gen 1 sonic parts depending on what you have, I have a hatchback so the rear suspension is a bit different than a sedan. I do know there are some companies that do gen 2 suspension upgrades. But since the sonic was discontinued in 2021 the aftermarket has dried up for gen 2 models...I do know you can do engine tunes but you need to pay a $50 fee to unlock the gm ecu since gm decided to lock down the said ecu.
