Hello, everyone!
I've got a 2015 Chevy Sonic Hatchback with the 6-speaker setup. Today, I replaced all of my speakers and my head unit. The head unit I went with was the ATOTO A6 Pro (https://www.amazon.com/ATOTO-A6Y272...to+a6+pro&qid=1561862778&s=electronics&sr=1-1). I went with this unit because I wanted as close to a full Android experience without breaking the bank. So far, I love it.
That said, I have a single issue: I did not purchase the Metra ASWC-1 harness that will retain stock steering wheel controls. Before shelling out the cash, I e-mailed ATOTO support and they got back to be quickly with the following message:
"I checked and found that your car uses analog resistive based signal to control dashboard stereo, so you don 't need any other module (ASWC-1 interface is never required!).
May I know how many wires that you found are relative to the steering wheel controls? Please connect the positive wire(s) to the Key(+) / Key#(+) wire, connect the ground wire to the ground wire of ATOTO A6."
That being said, I have some questions:
1) WTF is "analog resistive based signal"? Google didn't help with that one.
2) I have the Key(+) and Key#(+) wires coming off the back of the aftermarket head unit. That said, it sounds like there ought to be a couple of wires coming from the steering wheel for the stock controls that I will have to connect to the Key wires. Any idea where I can find these?
If I can save $50 and avoid the ASWC-1 adapter, that would be nice!
