Am I the only one...

People never ask me what it is.

But people do ask me how I fit into it. I'm 6'7".

I'm real tired of explaining to people that small cars are actually more space-efficient inside and for me, that means that if I push the seat all the way back I can't even comfortably floor the clutch. For some reason people cannot comprehend how I cannot fit into a Yukon with sunroof due to head clearance and yet the Sonic has all that extra room.

Today I got fuel and went in to pay. Dude behind the counter says: "so we've been arguing in here over what kind of car that is.. What is it?" I tell him it's a Sonic and he looks baffled. He'd never seen a Sonic that "looked like that" and the person he was arguing with thought it was an Aveo. THAT he said he was sure it wasn't, but he didn't know what it was.

Then he says it looks like a rally car and I snickered a bit, (because RS) and explained the different styling of the RS. Then he made my day "okay.. But that's not ALL stock.."

NOPE!

Yep, has happened to me several times. "Hey what car is that, I've never seen it"….(salesman mode ON) well you see this is a Chevy Sonic and…… I tell them all the options and just educate them about this great vehicle.

NOPE!

Unless the RS moniker has changed since ?1968? it stands for Road Sport. I don't know what badge GM has/will use to indicate Rally as I don't recall anything specific.

I never get asked what my car is There are far too many of them around here now.

I was not alive in '68 but I always thought it was rally sport. Apparently its a common misconception.

Interesting. I stand corrected. None of the vehicles produced with an RS badge have ever seemed Rally inspired to me. Nor have they made me think they would even stand a chance on broken pavement, gravel, dirt, mud, and so forth. To call it Rally Sport I would assume it would at a minimum be AWD.

I do agree with that one. Maybe the "sport" means nice, paved roads only.. Lol
