I'd rather piss in my engine than use AMSOIL anything anywhere. They couldn't give it to me free.
Old school hatred for their company. Their business model is what turned me off years ago with the we're are the best and by not using out product you are doing your vehicle, ATV, Jet Ski, Dirt Bike etc... a Dis-Service and using an inferior product. Best Best Best Best. From the traveling salesman of yester year to the now online groupies the MO never changes.
Then they really got bad with the whole M1 is not a true syn anymore BS. Started adding gobs of ZDDP to their oils
P.S. Your modern engines valvetrain and bearings does not give a sh!t, They don't make Flat Tappet valvetrains anymore. In fact those super levels of ZDDP will wreak havoc on your factory Cat

Don't know about the rest, but the statement in bold is 100% fact. And no matter what anyone wants to believe, every engine out there consumes and burns some amount of oil, even if its very little its still happening.

Tell that to the people with TDIs about no more flat tappet. They are made. ZDDP levels have had some effect on engines. However, it wasn't Mobil's fault. The ZDDP was lowered for EPA reasons.
Also, with as aggressive as some moderns cams have become ZDDP has been used to prolong use. Regardless of the lifter/tappet and aggressive cam can destroy itself without the proper lube.
I am not an Amsoil fanboy either. They just rode what people were seeking and knew. Each oil manufacturer has the good and bad oil. It mainly depends on application. I use M1 extended/truck or Shell Rotella T6 for diesel. I have and would use Motul, Elf and a few others. Just about any oil that is right for the plication will work. The real issue is the OCI, go shorter miles with the lower quality.

I used to buy rotella t by the drum. We used it in everything from our trucks, our semi to our farm tractors and generators. And have never had any oil problems with anything
Luckly now we are down to buying it by the bucket (5 gallons) no long have the trucks and Dont put many miles on the semi

The T6 is great oil, dare I say the best for large and small diesels. The T5 is not to shabby either.

My bad.
I've sent samples to Blackstone Labs from my other cars and Amsoil always performs the way I expect. Using it on extended intervals, the cost matches using other synthetics.
I will agree that their business model is less than awesome (similar to Amway). That model, however, if exploited properly can get you the product pretty cheaply.

I've used Rotella, Mobil 1, Castrol Syntec and a few others. I've switched to Amsoil and run it in everything from my string trimmer to my 750rwhp Silverado. I like using it for its extended drain intervals. Been using it now for better than 10 years.
I say to each his own. If you don't like Amsoil then don't use it. If you do keep using it.
I've seen this debate beaten to death on other forums. It usually leads to the tread being closed. Let's stay civil and not do the same thing here.

I put amsoil in my Gsxr three times, all three times it foamed up like hell, made the engine louder and came out looking like trash. Stick with Mobil 1 or castrol.
