Any advice? Jerking at low rpms, intermittent loss of power on accelerating, no power past 4th gear...

Hey guys, this is my first post on here. I have a 2015 Sonic RS 6-speed manual. So the 1.4 Turbo. Driving around today I noticed when I would accelerate past 50% throttle (rough estimate) the engine cuts out intermittently and stutters while climbing in RPMs. Then cruising through parking lots in 1st or 2nd gear, below 15mph, the car jerks and bucks pretty rough like its not getting enough fuel maybe? Also noticed when accelerating onto the freeway, shifting at 3500-4000, decent amount of throttle, the car loses its umph past 4th gear, like it goes into limp mode.

It's 35 degrees here in Washington, dry roads, I have 91 octane in my tank right now. Only mod is an AEM intake. And i made sure to check that hoses and clamps were tight for that. Random thing I noticed also, (may or may not be important) I am hearing alot more engine noise than usual when accelerating.

Could be a ton of things, if it's still drivable take it to an auto parts store they will usually do a free scan on you ecu to see if the car is reporting any trouble codes. Take it to a trusted mechanic for a full diagnostic check if the auto parts stores come up empty.

Engine noise could be anything.

• These engines have a chain which can cause rattling and bad idle/rev if you have low tension.
• The EVAP canister Purge solenoid valve can be going out aswell.
• Your ignition system could be faulting somehow. I'd check your spark plugs, ignition coil and wiring harnesses.
• Depending on how often you service your engine, it could be something terribly wrong with your engine like rod knock.

I might had missed it but that would had definitely caused a fault code in the obc without that it's a guessing game .

A vacuum hose slipped of of my intake and it caused stuff like that but had a fault code to go along with it , it was the hose that went to the bypass solenoid but I doubt it's the same thing have auto zone or whatever you have nearby plug in a scanner see if it threw a code they have stored codes without giving a warning light maybe it's stored in the obc.
