Any Ideas (that work) for getting off the Mailing list?

I have tried and tried going through my dealer, and trying to contact Chevy to have them stop sending me the freaking flyers and crap.

5 Years, and I haven't got it done yet! I even gave a ton of bad reviews and stopped going to the dealership for ANY work, stickers and oil changes.

Junk mail pisses me off!!!

Plus. I think they are behind those slimy Companies hounding you to sign up for extended warranties. How'd THEY get my info?

Love my Sonic. Hate Chevy Junk mail and Spam!!!

Anyone succeed in stopping it yet?

I would contact whatever the return address of the mail is first. Also advertising agencies have a separate return address in small print. It might be worth to look thoroughly at who is actually sending you that mail then contact that person.

That's the thing.... every type of mail I get with the Chevy logo shows absolutely NO return address. Not sure if I can figure out who it is by the bulk license number. Hmmm. I think it's all farmed out to an underground printer or prison workers... ha They don't wanna be known cause someone would prolly go postal on these spamming turds if they found them. I'm agoraphobic, so it won't be me lol

Other mails, from shady extended warranty places, I usually try to get off their list and give horrible reviews wherever I can...

Will never stop lol. Don't own my sonic anymore. Haven't for two years. Still get "hey we want to buy your sonic for $13000" always has some outrageous price that nobody would ever give. Started getting mailers for Ford too. Never even owned a Ford. Agree with you Chevy could be giving out the info.

Almost been two years, some bumps and bruises along the way but nothing too crazy. Had a few weird fluke things break on the interior but they fixed free under warranty. Got a chip in the windshield repaired but will wait later to probably replace the whole windshield. Thinking next vehicle I definitely want a windshield warranty because all the last cars I have had, got chips or big cracks. Would think about another Porsche in the far future but maybe get a Turbo version or the bigger Cayenne. Was kind of surprised but not really by the service costs. I did research before and expected high prices but sometimes I still get sticker shock. I think about my sonic often, wondering where it ended up and hope it is in good hands.

The problem here in Texas is the DMV sells your info. They get updates by VIN when a state inspection is done, it even includes current mileage. Warranty Companies are the number one buyer. The also sell registration info. A lot of the Chevy junk mail does have your local dealer's name on it, but they didn't send it. It's generally sent by local advertising groups GM requires the dealers to be part of. The ad group charges dealers by the piece, not by how accurate the addresses are. Dealer's fade the heat, yet they have little or no control. Working for a dealer I know first hand how hard it is to get off the lists.

OMG, I think I found a potential solution!!!

I got ANOTHER piece of mail a few days ago. The "We want to buy back your car for $1 million" and today I got the Dealer Specials. Arghhhhh

I mean, All the thoughts I've had as I come close to going postal.

I hate WASTING trees, and paper, and the fuel and time it takes to make and deliver it... I NEVER use them.

I DO leave bad reviews every time I get some junk mail, and keep leaving them til I stop shaking from anger.

What's funny is, one review ~WAS~ a POSITIVE review on the Dealership, but I changed it to negative. The funny part about it is they had replied when it was positive, with a NICE thank you... So now it looks like they are Thanking me for a NEGATIVE review. LOL

I've thought about putting a sign on my car and sitting across from the dealership that Says "Don't buy Chevy, They won't take you off their Junk Mail List! EVER!!!"

Also wondered if I could sue or get a class-action going for spamming, harassment, trama, whatever lol

SO, this last piece of junk mail made me REALLY lose it, so I looked again for a way to stop the insanity.

I went to Chevy and hi-jacked the chat. Only 3 options in Chat,;

I'm Shopping for a vehicle
Assistance on a vehicle I own
I'm Checking on my new vehicle order

I've tried this before, but thought I'd try again. I picked assistance, and went off pretty badly on the person chatting with me. Who asked me to stop swearing and redirected me to another person.

Someone else got on. They took my VIN and FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY gave me a helpful link....

I get those damn Warranty offers too. Not sure if they get our info from RMV or Chevy here, but they get me too. I look them up online and see most all have HORRIBLE reviews for not paying out. I add to the negative reviews. I doubt these low-lives would remove me from the list, even if I asked, so I don't dare respond. I just write the worst reviews for them...

I agree! :)

If you read the fine print, you have to do the other two opt-outs separately, that's why I didn't link to JUST the mail-preferences link alone, although you can still get to the two others from there as well :D

I don't trust Chevy Marketing now. I'd probably get junk for NOT opting out of the other two, so I did them too. They should ALL be opted out from just that ONE!! :mad:

Heck, I'm not even sure I trust this will work after all the previous attempts I've made looking to get off their list. But a guy can hope!!!

I even wonder how long the link will last, once it spreads like wildfire...

We'll just have to watch and see :popcorn:
