Any New Pedders Plans for the Sonic?

I saw your thread a bit ago and will be following it closely. I am a member over on camaro5.com as well. I plan to get a new SS in the next year or so. Plan on getting your stuff for it as well. I probably won't boost the power on this car but making it handle better will make the driving more fun.

We'll be looking at the tune, coolers and exhaust to see if we can safely tweak a little more power out of the 1.4. I think the car would be off the charts with another 20 to 40 in TQ and HP, but reliability will trump performance on the build. The fun factor has sky rocketed with the coilovers. Right now I have 6kg coils up front and torque steer has been dramatically reduced. The ride quality is excellent with the 3kg rear coils. We'll be testing with 8kg,7kg,6kg,5kg,4kg and 3kg coils front and rear.

Seems to be a few of us C5 people over here....

As a future Sonic RS owner I'm going to be using my Sonic RS for Autocross. I would like to get front and rear double adjustable front and rear coilovers, front HD strut tower brace and HD rear sway bar. That would be a awesome start.

Count me in for front and rear anti sway bars.

Did you look at the specs for the Pedders coil overs? I suspect that is a solution that could meet your needs.

"if you build it they will come" if the aftermarket takes this car seriously they will find a way to make a front anti sway bar / strut tower brace. Heck if it was called the "Honda Sonic" a lot of parts would already have been made LOL.

The only bad thing is the Cruze had a bad start, not many members actually are using mod... However the Sonic looks like it may have more need/want for parts, so they may come.

I should state the lowering coils do a spectacular job of keeping the car planted, especially the rear, which seems to lessen the need for a rear brace/sway package.

I have one last revision coming to the front monotubes for our coilover application. Then I'll settle on either 3, 3.5 or 4kg coils for the rear. The change in ride height and spring rate makes a world of difference in the handling of the Sonic. Rapid high speed changes in direction are far more stable with the Sonic lowered. It is better than expected.

We are looking at exhaust, but nothing we have tried really sounds right.

We need more power, but we only reliable power. I am not pleased with the noise from the more open CAI. I'll go back to the factory air box. I haven't had time to check availability of a K&N filter for the OEM box. We'll bump the boost, adjust the tune and also tweak the transmission shift points based on the new power curve. To prolong transmission life we'll tighten the shifts.

After that wheels, tires and brakes.

Yes it was. And the weather cooperated. And the cover coming off the Pedderised ZL1 (along with Kelly's leap of joy) was the highlight of the day.

Also liked seeing another Pedderised Sonic, presiding as it was over a sea of Camaros.

Had a chance to drive a new zl1 around a race course, that is a nice car for sure. Tons of power and with an exhaust and pulley it is even better.

I admit, I am jealous. Not just on a street, but on a track! Very cool!

There were several ZL1s at the Rodgers Camaro show, the ones I saw being driven all sounded great. Livernois Performance had their nine second ZL1 there, for sale for only $72,000. Got to watch the Spymaster take his first turn behind the wheel of his Pedderised (lowered) ZL1. It was an excellent exclamation point to a great car enthusiast day.

yea, they do sound good. If you get them with the NPP exhaust, all you need to do is pull the fuse and it is basically straight piped and sounds mean. I have the same exhaust wired to a switch in my corvette gs so flip it and get that great v8 sound and turn it back on for highways or days when you want some quiet.
