Anyone else install an HID kit?

After a little research it looks like a lot of people switch to H9 bulbs from H11. They're 65 watt but I'm sure the wiring harness can handle it. Opinions?

as i previously stated, i overcame the day time running light situation by getting my 12 volts from the constant on on the turn signal lights. then from there it gave the signal to the relay kits and thus the hids work just fine. in doing so we also bypassed having to turn the fog lights on every time you start the car and so they are wired on the same way. so basically when the light sensor says its dark enough the lights automatically come on. you can still use the main headlight switch but this way works just fine for me.

I can still use main headlight switch and it does still work with the light sensor.....but i dont have to cut any wires...just plug and play...and i dont have fog lights and it is self fused.

I know this is an HID thread but I have another question still pertaining to lighting. Does anybody know any good reputable companies that make compact LED light bars? Something that can be put on the front bumper or grille. Maybe like 4-8". I don't wanna do a general google search and find some knock off. I want good quality.

When I get some more time on my hands I'll try to make a crappy mockup of what I'm looking for on microsoft paint. lol

Personally if I was going to do any LEDs up front I'd get the Oracle halo lights and call it a day. They look more OEM.

amazon has a light bar that are high output led's. they're amazing, especially for off-roading. i'm sure you can cut the bezel and mount bracket and mount anywhere you want. you can get them ranging from 3-led (about 4" wide) to 30 led (about 50" wide). but the're expensive. about $75 EACH for the short ones, and about 500 for the long one. but they're bright.

these are high quality lights, but there's one company out there than makes these with only one row of lights so they're thinner, similar to the new BMW/Mercedes fog lights

I know this is the HID thread but I just placed an order with Amazon for Phillips H9 bulbs for the low beams and the Phillips HIR1 9011 bulbs for the highs. We'll see how they work out.

I put the Phillips bulbs in yesterday. The 9011s were easy. I just cut a small piece of plastic off the one tab, it's basically already marked where to cut. Then I filed it a little bit. The H9s are more difficult. You have to file down the one plastic piece inside the socket which isn't easy. I had a hard time finding a small enough file. You also need to cut a part of the metal tab. I haven't driven at night yet to see the difference.
