Anyone finding the seats uncomfortable?

I'm 6feet2in, about 210pounds.

I find the seats in my RS, if adjusted appropriately, are just about the most comfortable I have had or sat in in any car.

Seat all the way down, angled forward a touch, adjust to appropriate leg length.

The real head scratcher for me is the steering wheel adjustment. All the drivers in my family have it in the fully up position, including my 5'-3" daughter. Why is it adjustable if the full range of adjustment is only useful for people <5'-3"??? Did anyone even try it before they started selling them?

I'm 5'7" and have my steering wheel almost all the way down. I also have long legs and a short torso, so I have to push my seat back and crank it up so my legs fit and I can actually see. I never use the center armrest, but rest my arm on the door. Overall, the seats are comfortable. The seats in my GTI were great because the bolsters were big and snug. My bigger passengers hated them though. Even with the bolsters, lumber support, and center arm rest, I still hurt after a long drive in that car. I never hurt in the Sonic!

And the Cruze seats are awful. My head was always hitting the headrest and the center console/armrest was useless for me.

5'10" 200 lb bum approachin' 50 comfortable as heck. Only took a couple trips that took two-plus hours. Seat down to the bottom, steering wheel low but forward. Only back pain I really ever had was with Bronco II, Explorer, Econoline & Mountaineer ( hmmm ). This will never compare to my '79 Cutlass, but it's pretty dang comfy

I have the RS. Not sure if the seats are different but I find them comfortable. I am 6' 2. 240. I have been spoiled with my previous ride. No power seats here but on long trips, 3 hrs plus I do move the position to change any pressure points.

I like the seats in the Sonic. I'm 6'7" and a hair above 200 lbs. All torso, which makes it easy for me to use the notoriously high placed armrest.

However, nothing I've ever sat in beat the seats in my old LS2 GTO.

They aren't as comfortable as my old Mercedes 300D, but they are much better than my old Corolla seats. I also disliked the fabric on the Corolla seats. They stained very easily. Even my jean color would rub off. The Sonic seats are more firm and have nylon feeling fabric.

I find the seats to be pretty good overall, with the exception of the headrest and the armrest, which I hate with the passion of a thousand suns (seriously, why not make it 4 inches longer so it would be actually usable?)

I'm with the OP - it took me 2-3 weeks to find the right seating position. I'm 5'7" with long legs (it's a cross I bear bravely), so my problem was, when I was at the right arm length, my legs weren't comfortable, especially because of the foot / pedal angle. So now I'm sitting a bit further back. I also sit pretty straight up and I also elevated the seat a bit (I wish I could sit even straighter, but then the damn head rest pushes my head forward too much).

I do have back issues though, especially lower back, so I found that this makes the seat a lot more comfortable:

Also I've conquered the head rest with this thing:

Both fill in gaps where there is a lack of lower back and neck support. The seat cushion has one downside: no ties to keep it in place, but it doesn't move around when you're sitting down. With these modifications, I'm quite happy with the seats. And yes, whoever tries to move my seat will be very, very sorry.

Hmm I'm comfy in mine. I'm 5'6" with quite a bit of junk in the trunk. I know what you mean about the office chair thing. I've got the seat jacked all the way down, the back relaxed, and scooted about as far back as possible and still being able to push in the clutch all the way. This puts me about a slightly bent elbow arms length from the steering wheel.

The hell? I'm 6'7" and I sit about 4-5 clicks forward from the rear-most seat position with the seat all the way down. If I sat all the way back, I can still floor the clutch but not very comfortably. My legs aren't exactly stubs.

On topic. As mentioned, I'm 6'7" but I'm pretty slim at 200 lbs. I find the seats to be very comfy. I hated the '12 Soul that I traded, mainly because the seats felt like picnic benches. I like thigh support and a deep-seated position.

Tightest seats I've ever sat in (factory) were RX8 seats. I hear Focus ST is like that as well. Those would be perfect for me.

The hell? I'm 6'7" and I sit about 4-5 clicks forward from the rear-most seat position with the seat all the way down. If I sat all the way back, I can still floor the clutch but not very comfortably. My legs aren't exactly stubs.

Uhm, I don't know? Placement confirmed Friday as I was vacuuming it. I really wanted that seat to scoot back a click or two. It wouldn't.

My 5'8" hubs is comfy too.

I'm 6'5" 250 lbs and if I put the seat all the way back I can't depress the clutch comfortably. I also have the seat all the way down as low as can go. Seat is very comfy and I can use the armrest and headrest just fine.

That can only mean that Insanika is probably wearing 8" heels every time she drives, if she can floor the clutch comfortably with seat almost all the way back, when tall guys like you and I cannot do so.

Yeah I gotta see proof now that you can depress the clutch comfortably and drive the car with the seat all the way back. opcorn: My leg is straight as can be with the seat all the way back to press the clutch in. Also one way to tell if the seat is all the way back is if the seat back is just about touching the seat bottom of the backseat.

My fiance is probably close to your height, about 5'4" ish, and she can not even touch the pedals in my car where I sit, my hip is at her chest. LOL

I was just out investigating. I can see that I still have plenty of rail to go back, but the seat will not go back any further. Maybe there is something stuck in the track?

Will investigate further when it's warmer lol.

Does the passenger seat go back farther? If so, then yes, something is stuck in the track.
