Old thread I know, but thought I'd post here rather than making a new one.
I'm using a Patriot 8 gb USB stick, and when I select songs with the right knob on the radio it has mental problems sometimes. Like, I'll pick a song, and a totally different song will start playing (as if I selected it instead). I don't have shuffle or repeat on.
Just curious if anybody else has run into this.

I have not, but I usually just use the skip song feature with the USB on random. I will try tomorrow.

I tried it this morning and it does behave very strange. I can select ant song, it starts to play that song, but then randomly switches to another song after 10 to 20 seconds. That makes that function pretty much useless. I will stick to using shuffle and skip.

I can't stand the interface. Why can't it do organized playback and shuffle at the current organizational level?
For example, if I am in a particular artist's folder, I should be able to shuffle all of his songs. Instead, if I activate the shuffle feature, it does a global shuffle instead. It should do the same thing for genre.
If I want to listen to a particular artist or album, I have to settle for having the songs played in order.
I've had to work around this issue by using a separate thumb drive for each genre that I want to listen to.

Most are 192 kBit/s, some are 128. I think you are right, it was behaving like it was scanning. Maybe I activated that feature unknowingly. I hate reading the manual but maybe I will!

I've run into this issue, too. For instance, if I pick the 2nd song in a folder, it will play the second song in the first folder. No matter what folder I choose. It does this probably 90% of the time. I can't figure it out myself.

I tried my ipod today in both auxillary ports it would play the ipod but is was not loud at all.I had the volume turned all the way up on the ipod and the volume on the stereo about 30.The windows where up and driving 70mph and could hardly tell that it was playing. has anyone else had this problem? i didnt see any threads about this so i thought i would start here instead of starting new thread.please help i need my tunes.My ipod worked fine in my 09 malibu through the auxillary port and it works fine on my honda goldwing

Your concern is definitely understandable. Beginning on page 7-16 for 2012 and page 7-15 for the 2013, there is a guide of how to operate the Ipod connection to the aux ports. If you continue to have issues, I would encourage you have it looked at the dealer. Please keep us posted on this issue.

I tried the things u said and change setting on the ipod and the aux,ports WORKED,so then i tried it with the usb port and every time i plugged it in the ipod the ipod would just go to a dark screen with the apple symbol showing on its screen and the ipod would not let me do anything on the ipod not even see if it was charging it, and when i pushed the aux / band button the radio display would say aux. no devive.I know the owners manual says not all ipods will work i own the apple ipod nano 8gb.Any ideas with this one or i am the few that the ipod i have is the one that dont work with the ubs port? thanks, glad to see chevy rep. helping us out online, when i was trying to get this workin 1st time i was drivin (bad idea) it was my fault on the problem with the aux. port.I wasnt driving trying the ubs port. any ideas???

Being that it is an in integrated system I wouldn't think the media type would matter as far as which codecs are supported. I could be wrong on that but I seriously doubt it. Whatever works via usb should work on cd and vice versa; what doesn't work on one most likely won't work on the other.

The USB port will support WMA. 4th post on the first page of this thread:
Does all of this apply to a burned CD? I have no idea and don't think the owner's manual even addresses that scenario. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I have the MyLink radio, and have noticed the 'shuffle' mode on USB Flash Drives is the same 'shuffle' each time I start up the vehicle. It plays the exact same tracks in the same order. Tried different USB flash drives, also turned off/on the shuffle mode.
Anyone else noticing this?
