Last year I replaced the assembly on my 2012 after the button broke. It was sticking for years but I noticed that it was much easier to press the button after it broke (it stayed in place). The new button was just as tight as the original so I used a utility knife to shave a little bit of plastic off the button where it hinges. Problem solved! Apparently the shifter assembly has some extra plastic on the hinge area causing years of sticking. Be careful and make sure you save the spring and reuse the little rubber bumper stops on the button. They are not included in the kit. I don't recall if the hinge pin is included but save it anyway. Also, the U shaped plastic surround is very difficult to seat properly on the left side. Somehow I finally got it positioned correctly and it popped into place.
