Black Chrome Headlights?

Hey guys I don't know if anyone has tried this or if it will work but here are my thoughts. For awhile Hella has made a set of fog lights called Black Magic. They look black or very dark when not lit but are standard brightness when turned on . I believe they do this by using black or midnight chrome paint on the reflective surface itself instead of normal chrome. I was thinking about taking my headlights apart and using black chrome paint on the headlight reflective surface itself similar to the Black Magics. What do ya'll think?

The housings do not easily come apart as they are melted together. You would have much better luck with aftermarket headlights.
