Could you tell me how to actually keep an eye on my EGR and what that is exactly? Sorry, I'm not dumb but am new to modding.

It isn't uncommon to have some oil in the intake area of a turbo. Normally trace amounts. It is also why cleaning out the inter cooler isn't a bad idea. The EGR has several functions. One is to actually get the engine running warmer as quick as possible. Another is have exhaust gases go through the engine to lower the amount of emissions.
The cycles of open and closed cause high and low temp situations. Prime for condensation, oil build up, and carbon/soot. This can cause carbon build up in the intake system. With all of the contaminates, this build up is difficult to clean.
Because the EGR is abused by wide temperature fluctuations, it can fail. They are regulated by being connected to the coolant system and/or oil system. When they fail, the owner will see a loss of coolant with no trace. The same can be said for oil.
A prime example of an EGR dud, is the jeep liberty cdr. They failed regularly, and required hours of shop time to remove and replace.

Thanks, wasn't aware. Looks like I need to examine the details of the 1.4. This oil issue might have legs then.
We have some one with a cracked valve cover due to a possible high pressure situation.
Oil on a few cases in the intake.

update.
I've noticed it doesn't matter what rpm I'm at. If I'm over 15lbs of boost for more than 10 seconds or so it will do it sometimes but not all the time

Update:
Removed the catch can and returned to factory tune. So far so good. Im going to drive on it for a little bit more and see.
If it doesn't show blue smoke ill tune it back and see if i can get it to smoke.

Well, it's still showing blue smoke and I've noticed my coolant is lower than normal.

Update:
At the dealer now.
Its the turbo seals. they're replacing the whole turbo assembly. They're not surprised and its not the first one to go they stated.

Here we go... Glad you got it fixed, however I doubt it is common. Waiting for the oil and 1.8 posts...

Ever since they replaced my turbo I am getting a lot more oil coming through the PCV line and into the catch can.
Any thoughts?
