Bluetooth Delay??

Is there a way to reduce the Bluetooth delay? Ex: When watching a video on a cell phone or tablet in car and using the Bluetooth function to play through speakers there is a 3-4sec delay for the sound to match the video. I know I can just use the 3.5 jack to fix this issue, but didn't know if there was a way to reduce the bluetooth lag.

Yeah it's really bad, I think it's the mylink hardware.. Just not as good as other radios

Glad to see i'm not the only one experiencing it. I'm surprised other's haven't complained about it. Again it's not so much audio delay when using the phone or listening to the radio and what not, but just when trying to sync video and sound together from a mobile device. It's kind of like watching a bad kungfu movie all the time lol

Please chime in if you are experiencing this with your mylink or not, and whether yes or no what trim/year do you have?

it only happens sometimes. like when you watch videos in a row it is less or even non existent. but just loading one video to the next it is bad

One way to help is to disable as many background processes as you can. The Mylink system is good but thats it, the other part of the equation is the speed of your phone. Your phone can be one day old or three years old, but its speed is greatly effected by whats its doing.

Recently my galaxy note started skipping while attempting to stream music over bluetooth, it didnt matter if it was my music, pandora, or tuned in radio. None of them would play. So I blamed the Mylink radio right away, but wait I knew I had streamed music flawlessly in my both mine and my wifes Sonic's (2015 & 2014) so I asked myself what changed and the answer was I installed two new apps. So I went into my application manager and disabled or uninstalled every app that I didnt want or use, and boom everything started working like normal.

The moral to the story is this; For all the people on this forum who aspire to get a Mylink radio.....Get a life! Mylink sucks! If you want a excellent radio go aftermarket. Your phone will connect faster, sound better, and have more functionality. If you enjoy your Mylink radio it's ok, but even a caveman would prefer a lighter rather than rubbing two sticks together.

The issues I experience has nothing to do with performance problems of the phones. I am having the same problem with my brand new note 5. It's not a buffering or stuttering or anything like that. It's merely the mylink is out of sync with the device as far as the video of the device matching the sound the mylink is putting out. You get consistent sound, it's just the sound you are getting is 5 -10 secs behind on the video. Example: Video ends on device, 5 secs later there is still audio from that video playing.

mine does the same thing, i have tried everything that i and other people can think of and nothing fixes it, just embrace/get used to the lag. its not that big of a deal IMO lol

It's not just the Sonic. Sometimes the factory unit in my Forester does it, too.

I have a 2015 buick regal loaner car right now, same phone and it doesnt have the problem. Makes me sad

After more research though, it's because of all the decoding stages the audio has to go through from the device to the bluetooth. Therefore the only way to get rid of this delay is to use the 3.5 jack. They obviously fixed this issue on newer versions, I wish they would find a way to patch the older versions.

Any update on how to fix this problem? And what model year is your car and when did they fix this? My car is a 2013 and it has a really bad lag

My 2015 has this problem as well. I use a note 4. Tried a few setting changes but it's still a 3 second or so time delay. I stopped using this feature. It's annoying and has become worthless for me.

yea it lags on my s7 edge and my girlfriends iphone 6 plus. It doesnt matter what phone is used. Would love for someone to come up with a fix for this.

Ugh, that Bluetooth audio delay is the worst! It feels like you're watching a bad lip-sync battle with yourself.
A few things might be causing that lag. Sometimes interference from other devices can mess with the Bluetooth connection. Try moving away from other devices like microwaves or even other Bluetooth devices.
