its on a dyno every weekend
a real world dyno, the 1/4 mile. I am not a big fan of dyno's. those numbers really don't mean a lot to me. a peak hp number means nothing number one because when you race the car the engine is at that rpm for about 1 second in each gear, so approximately only four seconds of the lets say 13 second pass is the motor at peak hp, what the hell is it making the other 9 seconds, that's what I look at. and is the car properly set up and geared to use the hp to its full potential. I had a super pro oldsmobile 442 with a very mild 455 back in the 90's that used to run 10.90s, it had maybe 420 hp in a 2800 lb race car. I knew people with dyno sheets that were running around telling everybody that their motor was making 635 hp, but I would drive right by them when they went 12.60, how is that? just not the right combination and setup. but if you want to know jerry says we are making about 180 hp/ 200 tq. my drag race calculator which uses weight and et. says its making around 170 hp with the time it runs in the heat and humidity, but that is real world with atmospheric conditions in account. in better air the car would definitely go 14.80 which would yield a number more like jerrys 180 hp
I see a lot of people on here with dyno numbers but I don't see any 1/4 mile times.lol
