Brake noise at stand still.

Being one of them paranoid guys about every sound while the car is under warranty. Was curious if anyone else has experienced any noises when pressing the brake pedal while not moving. It almost sounds like the noise you get on older cars where if you turn the steering wheel to far and you get noise from the power steering system. Not super loud like somethings about to blow up, but it is noticeable. Sounds like its coming from the driver side of the vehicle, hard for me to figure out where until i get someone to pump the pedal while i can get my head under the hood. I would assume this might be a sound related to the hillstop brake assist system. Again just never noticed it before. I can literally sit there and press the pedal over and over and duplicate the noise.

Is it like a creaking sound or is it that weird strange servo sound that the car makes when you hit the brakes?

I was just under the car today and I saw what it appears to he like the electric power steering on the left side by the wheel.

It's only when at a stand still, so the steering angle is not being changed. So I assume I could rule that out. It's a hard sound to describe it's almost like a purging sound. When I had the ac on today and I wasn't moving I sounded like it was doing the exact same sound. Which is odd since the brake sound was noticed when the a/c wasn't on. It's also on the left side of the car, where as i assume most of the a/c parts are on the pass side.

I honestly think I know exactly what your talking about but for whatever reason I also doubt that I do and kinda wish I could hear a sound clip of what your talking about in order to fully know.

Ok so there is some sort of solenoid on the brake booster is what im hearing. Whether or not it's normal that it is so loud, that's a whole different issue. But it looks like because the car is turbo, the solenoid assists the vacuum issues for the booster. Again assuming the function, but that appears to be where the sound is coming from.

Now the A/c sound....that shall be another day lol

i know the sound you're talking about, i hear it in mine occassionally (when the radio isn't turned on lol) nothings fallen off yet though so i dont think its anything worth worrying about. that being said, don't take my word for it, if you're worried about it and still have warranty, by all means get it checked. In my opinion, when it comes to vehicles, nothings more important than making sure the vehicle you drive has properly maintained safety equipment etc.

for example, i normally daily drive my truck, but it needs rear brakes fully rebuilt (drums shoes all hardware and lines etc.) the truck still stops fine, but because it has those issues, i wont drive it until i have the time to fix it

Yeah eventually i'll take it in soon, just was trying to get a comparison to other owners if they experienced out of place sounds. It's what i get for having a paranoid mechanics ear. Here is a link of the parts diagram, #17 which leads to the pump #13 is the system im hearing the sound from.

So what is this creaking noise? I noticed that in garage other day. Makes noise til you pump brakes a few times.

Does anyone have any more information on this?
I've never noticed it before either until....
I asked my wife to start my car for me so I can check something under the hood. She presses the brake first because she's used to automatics and mine is a 6-Spd RS.

That's when we hear the ticking sound. It happens when the car is off. It happens when it's on, but faint. It happens when parked in a stand still. I didn't record a video of it because I was positive others have. But since I can replicate it, I will do so tomorrow.

How has this not bothered anyone?!
