Camo green full car dip

Finally had some free time this weekend and was able to get my Sonic dipped. Full pro car kit ordered from www.dipyourcar.com. I bought 3 gallons of the camo green and still have about a half gallon left which gave me about 6 coats. Headlight rings and grille trim are the camo tan. Turned out pretty decent for my first full dip. I will probably keep it on over the winter and do something different in the spring.

You did a great job on the spray! I'm not sure I dig that color though, as it just doesn't seem to show off the lines of the car as well..maybe it's the photos, not sure. It's not a horrible color at all! I'm interested to see what else you decide to do with it.

Looks great Beastlick!! I've considered dipping my Sportster Nightster OD Green. I think I would have done the hatch trim and tail light rings tan bring the Tan/OD mix to the rear.

The color may not appeal to everyone, and I'm ok with that, but I wanted something GM would probably never do.

The chrome rear ring is killing me, luckily they can come right off if I remove the tails. It will probably be done this weekend. Same with the rear wing, super easy to remove and do separately.

Painting a brand new car would depreciate its value instantly. If I ever wanted to sell my car(not likely anytime soon) I could spend a couple hours, peel it all away and back to square one.

I'd rather take the depreciation hit than have my brand new $15,xxx-$20,xxx car covered in rubber for my length of ownership.

But that's me and I may be in the low percentage of people who view it that way.

Oh I completely understand if I intended to keep it this way for the length of ownership as well. For people who think dipping their car is a long term thing, I highly suggest they do more research. This will only stay on my car till spring max. Plastidip does eventually break down and become brittle which makes removing a pain if its on too long.

I will be sure to update this thread with pics upon removal to prove it wont hurt my clear coat or paint.

I've been interested in doing a full dip for a while, and I'm just wondering if its an all day job or what.

I started masking things off around 930 am. I was dipping by 1230, unmasking everything by 5 PM. Its an all day affair but I was giving it 20 minutes between coats to make sure they dried enough.

I don't think I have any pics yet with the demon eyes lit up. I'll try to get some up this week.
