I have a 2016 Sonic and was able to connect my old phone to the Bluetooth just fine. I just got a new phone, though, and when I try to search for devices on my phone, MyLink doesn't show up on the list. My phone also doesn't show up when I try to search for devices through the stereo system. I've already deleted my old phone from it, so I've ruled that out as causing any interference. I sent a help request to my phone's manufacturer, and below is their response. Does anyone know how to check if the Bluetooth in my car is compatible with the Bluetooth on my phone? I couldn't find anything about what version it is in the owner's manual.
LG's response:
It would be necessary to ensure that the Bluetooth version and supported profiles on the car system match (and are compatible) with the mobile phone’s version to ensure full functionality. For the LG TP260 mobile phone, this uses a Bluetooth version of 4.2 and supports the following profiles necessary for calling/messaging functions: Headset, hands-free, object push, advanced audio distribution, audio/video remote control, human interface device, and phone book access profiles. We encourage checking with your car manufacturer/dealer if these profiles are supported on the car system and if the Bluetooth version currently installed is compatible with version 4.2 that the phone is utilizing. As much as possible, it is recommended to have the same version of two devices that pair via Bluetooth.
