Chevy MyLink and Spotify/Pandora app sync?

So when I plug in my iPhone to USB the infotainment center displays the ipod apps album artwork and lets me essentially control the music from the cars controls. When I listen to the Spotify app, a message appears saying something like "another app is currently playing blah blah" and I have to basically control my music (minus volume) through my phone. OCCASIONALLY the MyLink will sync to what's playing in Spotify app and I can then skip ahead/turn on repeat etc from my cars menus/buttons for the music playing from my Spotify app.

My question is: does anyone know how to make this happen every time? I know it can do it because I've seen it do it lots of times, I just can't get it to do it consistently. Considering most people stream music now, using the iPod app is a no go.

Don't you have it on Bluetooth? That plug was always a pain for me and doesn't charge the phone enough to make it worth using. I generally just plug into a power source and bluetooth my iPhone apps/music.

My setup is a bit different, the one in the top glove box is now just a charging port and I have a small usb coming out of the dash behind the back of a wireless charging station. I just put my phone on the mount and it wirelessly charges/connects to Chevy MyLink. The functionality is the same as before for the MyLink though. Due to the wireless acting as USB it overtakes bluetooth. I like this way because bluetooth doesn't display the album art. This isn't a big deal for most, but I'm OCD and it bothers me.

Did you find a solution to this btw? Just switched over to Spotify and beveled noticed the issue until the display showed my song choice during a 3 min car ride. I’ve tried everything to get it to show again but nothing works and I can’t find a single thing that helps. I deleted Apple Music from my iPhone and it gives me a “Source not found” message on the dash.
