People try and use factory wheels sometimes.... You can probably get away with that at a local rally cross,but the speeds and roughness of stage rally they wouldn't work. They would break,taco or be so bent up after one stage the high speed wobble alone would cost you precious time. The tire and wheel are your first line of defense against pot wholes,water bars,jumps,rocks etc. they have to be tough as nails just to finish a rally. By the way I've finished the remaining 4 miles of a gravel stage on just the rim! I didn't slow down much either,lol.And the rim was still usable!(with 5 min of grinding).
