Chirping when accelerating at low speed

So, its been about a month since my last problem, time for another! When I accelerate, easiest to hear it at low speeds, it just started making this chirping sound.. sounds like its coming from the drivers side area. I don't think it's my turbo.

I appreciate the response but gm basically tells us to suck it up and deal with it on all of our problems so I don't think you'd help much

Chirping under acceleration from the drivers side of the engine. Dealer replaced my valve cover and intake manifold to fix it under powertrain warranty. They didn't give me any information other than that, so I'm still not sure what was actually wrong with it. I suspect the PCV valve that is integral to the valve cover, but who knows.

Good luck on getting it fixed.

We just drove to Chicago and back and it got worse. Definitely the manifold. Thank you for the information!!

I have an appointment to take it into the dealer. Should I remove my BOV? It's such a pain in the butt to remove and nobody has said anything about it yet. Could it impact the intake manifold?

Dealership says it was the PCV valve. Good job.

Anybody know if my BOV could have caused it?

The PCV valve uses intake manifold vacuum to remove positive pressure (blow-by gases from combustion) from the crankcase. A BOV that works (isn't malfunctioning) shouldn't have had any effect on the PCV valve.

It's been mentioned elsewhere on the forum that this has been an issue (with varying symptoms), so I assume it's an engineering issue.

Hah! They just called me, said they replaced the PCV valve... and it still was making the noise. The lady then told me it was the intake... I'm like WOAH WOAH, hold on a sec.. what? She's like yeah, we're going to replace it under warranty... I'm like... lolwut.. "I have a cold air intake... (mpfab)".. how.. what? She gave me the technician which then let me know it was the Intake Manifold, not the intake. LOL! They said it would be done Monday, lets hope it fixes it!

They replaced both the valve cover and the intake manifold at the same time on mine. I guess that means they wasted their time on both our valve covers, huh?
