I asked Danny at SPEC and he said all he had to do was use the bleeder on the clutch line going into the transmission. He said it took about 2min. to do.

Just thinking via text here: When I did the slave (heh) on my BMW, the service manual said something along the lines of "take the slave cylinder off and manually compress it to force remainder of air out" and it was completely necessary to get all the air out of the system. Not sure if this will help (haven't done the clutch myself) but figured I'd throw it out there.
