Code 2076

Hi I’m new here. I have a 2012 Chevy Sonic LS
150,000 miles. Numerous times I’ve replaced the plugs and coil pack because of misfire codes. Lately my engine light flashes and my traction light comes on. My codes now read 0300, 0301 and 2076. I saw that the 2076 was that the valve control arm pops loose and mine surely had. So we fixed it by replacing the arm. Still I now get a code 2076 with now the misfire codes. Is it really the plugs and coils again or could the intake manifold tuning valve position sensor be gone now? I’ve googled til I’m brain dead lol. Please help

It may be the actuator that controls the arm. Check to see if it operates when the throttle is increased

I have the same year and model as you do. The big difference is I only have about 60K miles on as I don't drive much.

I had the same issues with misfires. Replacing the coil and plugs didn't help either. The mechanic said there was gunk build up in there so he flushed the fuel injection system.
This helped for a little while but I'd still get those errors on cold mornings.

I tried switching from regular gas to premium and that seems to have made the problem go away for now. However, since the weather has been warmer, that might just be a coincidence.

The coils on these 1.8’a are so weak I have replaced 4 3 on the original and this one is from an 16 1.8 with 18,000 and already is doing the misfire. Good thing I got the lifetime replacement
