Lol. You're not the sharpest tool in the shed
It's called preventative maintenance, you know, like replacing tyres when they wear down & not waiting until one actually fails.
Yeah,
That's me, not the sharpest tool in the shed.
opcorn:
Instead of just replacing the coil and not waiting until it fails, why not replace all other parts that
may fail? Intake, turbo, cam phasers, valves, pistons, water pump, radiator, thermostat, heater blower, rotors, CV joints, struts, sway bar links, door hinges, wiper motor, rear wiper motor, A/C compressor, A/C TXV, oil pump, knock sensors, MAF sensor, CPS, oil pressure sensor, water temp sensor, alternator, clutch and all associated parts including clutch pedal, transmission. Should I continue?
Hell, I should buy a whole new car at 50,000 km just to be safe and it'll be cheaper than replacing all of the parts that
could fail.
I've been driving for 18 years and many many thousands of miles and have NEVER had a coil fail. Not once, never replaced one either. I've already got 76,000 miles on the Sonic as I drive 25,000+ a year.
Your tire example makes no sense and is a very bad example. You replace tires due to very obvious wear or dry rott, or perhaps you want different ones. You don't just blindly replace them because of a whim.
