Creating a more comfortable driver's seat: my finds

My situation is that the lower seat feels like its angled down in t back too much. I had to replace the seat cushion and spring and both GMC and the dealership says EVERYTHIGN is within specs.. but it still feels wrong. I too have purchase some seat foam material and plan on sculpting it into a wedge and place it under the seat cushion to raise the back of it up to a more comfortable angle. My question is does ANYONE know how to take the lower seat apart. the dealership tech said it was pretty easy. something about removing the outer kick panel then popping the fabric off and that gives you access to the cushion. No sure how to get the side kick panel off though ....

My son is 6'4", and he and I (at 5'6") both find the seats comfortable, except that I have removed the headrest, because I don't actually drive while looking at my knees. I keep one headrest in the car, and he uses it in whichever seat he's in, otherwise it's just rattling around in the rear seatwell.

I tried this. Then I spilled ranch dressing from lunch all over the backseat floor. Now my headrest smells of old ranch and I keep a small army of vanilla tree shaped fresheners in the glovebox. Not sure if this post will help anyone. :blankface:

I believe that as with any product that is made, it can only be made to suit the aimed target consumer. As someone who is 3 years out of college, 5' 11" ~155/160lbs, I have no issues or complaints with any of the seat setup. The headrest is only an issue for me if I try to drive with the seat straight up which I dislike anyways. I drive with the seat angled back a bit (no low rider stylin), reducing any issues that I may have with the headrest.

Each person is going to experience their seat differently. I know that there have also been complaints about the seat bolsters wearing out. I could see how someone like my dad could wear them down more as he is 6'1" and about 220ish. When he sits down, it's like he is partially sitting on the bolsters. When I sit in there, I have a little bit of room before I get to the bolster.

I do hope that those of you who do have issues with the seats are able to find what you need to make them comfortable to enjoy the most from the Sonic . I have done some extensive driving time in my seats (drive from AZ to AK) and I find them to be very comfortable and don't bother my back much.
