Not speed cameras red light cameras. The ones that flash when you run a red light.
I was told by a cop friend when you get the notice in the mail, DO NOT respond to it and absolutely DO NOT review it online or even log into it. That's how they know you even got it in the mail. Just throw the notice away like you never got it and they can't prove you got it.
Another way my family has done numerous times (successfully), if the car being driven is in a different persons name than the driver, have the owner attend court and simply say "this isn't me." If they ask who shrug and repeat "It's not me." They legally cannot ask you to tell them who someone is. Just say it's not you and they have to dismiss.
Good luck with this. A lot of states are throwing out the red light camera laws because it is hard to prove who was driving. I am guilty of having a speed light camera ticket. Which to this day I know I could have fought, I know for a fact I wasn't doing 44 in a 20 because I was at complete stop and making a left hand turn when it took my picture.
