Rebuilding/rejetting carbs is easy and fun, like building model airplanes when you were young. But once it is all back together, you will need to vacuum tune/balance it because of the multiple carbs. You can buy your own vacuum manifold. But I'd recommend letting a shop dial you in.

As Eric pointed out, only the one carb to have to mess with. When it comes to messing with intake, exhaust, and the jets I may invest in a wideband for the bike. Dont even have a narrow band in there to give me so idea of what is going on.

you'll soon discover that a wideband, or even narrow, is largely unnecessary.

It's a one lunger? Well, at least you don't have to worry about balancing. Hell, you can just set the idle, and play with the mixture screw while "soot" tuning the AFR. You can literally trial and error one 1/8th turn at a time between drives until you hit the sweet spot.

Can't do that with multiple carbs, but with one, there is only one right answer so it should be beyond simple.

My Harley was so simple to tune. My first bike was 1982 Yamaha 650 maxim.

Had a 4-1 header ( with a tractor muffler..... Was very redneck) and pod filters.

It was a pita to tune correctly

An 82 Maxim is literally one of the best first bikes to learn on. I taught a few people how to ride on one. My first bike was a Yamaha Vision 550. It was a v-twin but had a 4-to-2 with an x-collector exhaust. Yup a 2 cyl with 4 exhaust ports. The rear cyl pipes had a different note than the longer from pipes but they all hit the x-pipe before leaving to two mufflers. It gave it an absolutely magical sounding exhaust.

I learned on the Vision. Great bike to learn on. Then when I was 18 I bought the 91 Gixxer750. It had a full V&H header, and a Stage 3 jet kit/ K&N filter. I felt like a god.

My first bike that I learned on and owned was a 79' suzuki gs 1000 chain drive. A buddy that I always rode with had a 80 Suzuki es 1000 with flat side carbs bad ass bikes they were

The Suzuki GS's were awesome. My buddy had the 850 shaft drive. We cafe'd it out and put a V&H header on it. It was a beast. I was surprised how fast it was.

My buddy hard tailed his with a v&h header. Had a suicide shifter out of a 4 speed dodge truck and clutch on the shifter. His as well was a shaft drive. At 70mph he could open it up and stand it on the rear tire just by accelerating
