An operator dug up some underground wiring and my tool partner and I had to fix it today. There is some 3" PVC sleeved over it and this was just the first splice for the section we had to replace. 4100 VAC lot lighting that was buried about 4' underground. First time using this style of splice. A barrel splice crimp is actually making the splice, but the kit includes a cover and epoxy that protects it from moisture and being pulled apart.
The other day I was supposed to install a ground rod for a new piece of equipment. I had to ask my boss if I was installing a ground rod or beef when I looked at the print.
Going in to work tomorrow to install a bucket in a MCC and pull some wire. Hopefully security isnt too nosy and stays out of the way. I will be spending the day in part of the GM design building. Usually they sit off to the side and make sure we dont take pictures or touch things we are not supposed to.
