This is exactly why i am not going to take mine in for the first oil change ! This is not a chevy dealer only thing, pretty much all dealerships operate like this. Bought a 2011 BMW 328i. I was supposed to have free maintenance for 3yrs i believe it was, they kept trying to get out of EVERY maintenance thing (including windshield washer fluid lol). And when they did they would do stupid stuff like leave the washer fluid reservoir cap off, they underfilled oil once, didn't put the cap on properly.... yeah. If you want it done right, do it yourself. Big or small. Unfortunately some things like warranty work you can't get out of.
