Door locks

Recently my doors have been locking on their own… usually shut off car, open door, lock… but sometimes also engine running, key in ignition, open door, lock…, I replaced the battery in the fob, but still happening… sorry if this has been covered…

I am thinking it could have something to do with the door latch mechanism in the door. Could be faulty.

So I have been locked out while the car is running twice. I ALWAYS roll the windows down now if I keep it running, and have had it lock randomly at lease a dozen times and had to reach in to unlock it. Also i have to pull the for handle twice to exit from the vehicle, all doors, this is constant. If I hit unlock on my Fab, it locks it. So I naturally hit unlock twice to unlock the car. It's ridiculous. If there's a post on this please link it cause I can't find it.

I've just started having this issue on my 2016 LT as well. It locked me out while the car was running the other night so after having a late night wrecker fee to open it, I decided to hide a key on the outside of the car and I've already had to use it twice. I can't seem to figure out any logical reason why it does this.

I have a '17 with 88,700 miles on it. No issues so far. I have the push button start, and my doors lock/unlock when I put it in/out of drive.
If all four doors lock/unlock on your vehicle its not isolated to just one door lock. I would check the switch assembly in drivers door for a short (internal or external of the switches).

Agree. . the drivers side door has the wiring for ALL 4 doors going to it . .. like a master control. I would also check the wiring at the door hinge area since it can wear and short to the metal door.
It may be needed to remove the inner door panel to see if the door lock wiring harness has maybe caught and rubbed on something.

I don't know About all the different years and trims but this lock-out (or anti-lock-out) and the two-step exit door handles have available options hidden in the infotainment system in my 20' LT.
This allows me to adjust these features or to just turn them off completely

I'm sure yours is similar and can be adjusted appropriately. Anyways hope this helps and it isnt anything broken or rubbing. When you find what the issue is , please let know what was found. This has peaked my curiosity and I need to know cuz I don't want to get locked out either. Granted i have this situation covered with state farm roadside assistance but I have two very young children and cannot afford to just sit and wait for them to show. Wait I just realized I have OnStar guardian and mychevy phone app so as long as I have my phone I should be alright. Either way I can't wait while my kids are locked in and strapped down in my car that may or may not be idling!

You could get another actual laser cut key to keep in wallet, purse, or hidden magnetic key holder placed somewhere under the car.
There is the removable key cover on the driver side door handle to use and actual laser cut key contained in every key fob.

I have the same issues at the moment. How did you guys fix it? It's really bad to get locked, it doesn't matter where and why, whether it's a car or your home door, it's quite a problem being locked. If this happened you have to act now, fast and calm, the only best thing you can do is to call a specialist. Videos from youtube and lifehacks from google won't help you, they could even make things worse, you really have to call a locksmith sw5 to fix your issue fast.

Under the settings on the radio touch screen is a few different options for the door locking. I have mine set to never lock the drivers door when getting out of the car. I use the remote fob to lock it when outside of the car.
