wow thank you would this make the stock ones sound better also just curious dont really want to go through the hassle of putting in new speakers

Buy this, you won't be sorry at all. It's only $50 and is a huge upgrade... There is another thread I posted in a few days ago that has instructions for the install. The stock speakers sound WAY better with this thing, it gives them 17watts rms and also functions as a DSP. I planned on replacing them down the road, but honestly the sound good enough now that I won't replace them until they blow out. (You don't need to use the IPOD dock, you can just throw it in the trash). With the DSP installed, I think it sound about as good as my 2013 camaro 2SS with the Boston speakers.

Of course it is only my opinion but I'd rather have upgraded components than subs. If I was going to upgrade the Sonic I'd start with new speakers in the doors driven by a bi-amped setup with active crossovers.
Then, if I wanted more low frequency output I'd add subs with their own amplifier.

Finally got around to installing this yesterday, wow what a difference. I was running 6.5 alpines all the way around with a JBL 4ch amp, the door chime and turn signal sounds were driving me crazy. Anyway, with this amp installed the chimes and turn signals are back to normal and the alpines sound great.
