Driver Side Wiper Blade

Hey All,

I've gone through 4 driver side 26" wiper blades, 2 dealer and 2 I bought on my own dime. They are quiet for a few days, but then they start vibrating like a sob. It's only the side closest to the driver side where your inspection sticker (in NJ anyway) would be placed.

It can't be the wiper, every single one? Any recommendations?

I agree, that can't all be the blades. Sounds to me like you have some sort of fit and fitment issue, maybe the wiper arm is slightly bent or something. My thinking would be to put a wiper blade from the dealer on (with any luck, one of the ones you already bought, if you didn't throw them out) and then go in and have them fix the problem. Should be covered under your "bumper to bumper," so nothing out of your pocket, whether they just do some expert bending, or whether they replace the entire wiper arm assembly.

If you have reason to believe it won't be covered, then you could try tinkering with it on your own, very likely it just needs a firm twist, a half inch here or there... but I'm certainly no expert, and I would think once you start twisting you certainly lose any warranty on that particular issue.

Another thought, could it have been a bird strike? That might be covered under your insurance, instead of your warranty. But if it's been there since you bought the car, then it's a GM manufacturing defect, not an insurance issue.
