Yeah, I need to get into growing my own food. Between a possible economic crisis and Monsanto's cancer corn, it would be the best thing anybody could do.
By the way, on that note, back in his 2008 campaign one of the things Obama promised was to label GMO products, or products containing genetically modified crops which are made by your friends at biotech firms such as Monsanto and Dupont! </sarcasm>. What did he do instead?
Obama filled key posts with Monsanto/GMO people in the USDA and FDA...
USDA - director of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture:
Roger Beachy, former director of the Monsanto Danforth Center.
FDA - deputy commisioner:
Michael Taylor, former vice-president for public policy for Monsanto.
USDA - commisioner:
Iowa governor Tom Vilsack. Vilsack had set up a national group, the Governors' Biotechnology Partnership, and had been given a Governor of the Year Award by the Biotechnology Industry Organization, whose members include Monsanto.
Agriculture Trade Representative:
Islam Siddiqui, a former Monsanto lobbyist.
USDA - Corporate council:
Ramona Romero, who had been corporate counsel for another biotech giant, DuPont.
USAID - head:
Rajiv Shah, who previously worked in key positions for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a major funder of GMO agriculture research.
What's wrong with GMOs you ask? Take a look at this:
Cancer row over GM foods as French study claims it did THIS to rats... and can cause organ damage and early death in humans | Mail Online
GMO corn has since been banned in places like Europe and Russia.
