Laborsmith, name ten reasons why you like our current president ?

I think the fact that I am a social worker (retired) should suffice. I know that is not ten reasons, but I am quite certain that should be reason enough.

And it is not that I like or dislike our current President so much as I like the ideas he supports as well as a strong animosity toward almost every idea the Republican nominee for the office supports.

On a side note, 73% of the Lucas County Ohio vote went for the Democrat. The biggest city in Lucas County is Toledo. Toledo is the home of JEEP and a major source of that brands production. I will leave it to your imagination to try to figure out why I included my side note in this post.

Interesting.

I also have over thirty years as the local union grievance committee officer and much of what I learned representing fellow union members leads me to support these ideas.

But if the ideals contained in the NASW Code of Ethics are "bs" than you must be correct.

It isn't safe with either of them. Either way, the Federal Reserve, under the guidance of Ben Bernanke, has been pumping money into the economy at an alarming rate. It is called Quantitative Easing, and has usually come in a set amounts (QE1 and QE2) until a few months ago when the Fed announced Unlimited quantitative easing (QE3). Now they will be purchasing $40 billion in mortgage-backed securities every month for an indefinite amount of time, meaning that every month that passes by, $40,000,000,000 new dollars create a flood of hyperinflation that is slowly (for now) destroying the value of your currency, one that is already not backed by something stable like silver or gold, until one day it will completely plummet and will be useless. Look at what happened to Zimbabwe or the Weimar Republic (Germany) when they printed too much money. THAT's what we have to look forward to.

And the **** of it is, both Robama and Obamney support Ben Bernanke and unlimited QE3, so no matter what the outcome, we're screwed, which is a major reason why I didn't vote for either one of the two evils.

My apologies. I thought for certain the question was why anyone supported President Obama and I was (and am) quite certain I should be counted as one amongst the group who so supports.

I find it interesting that a person who served a year as the Editor of the HARVARD LAW REVIEW can be considered to be a dumb ass.

Yeah, I need to get into growing my own food. Between a possible economic crisis and Monsanto's cancer corn, it would be the best thing anybody could do.

By the way, on that note, back in his 2008 campaign one of the things Obama promised was to label GMO products, or products containing genetically modified crops which are made by your friends at biotech firms such as Monsanto and Dupont! </sarcasm>. What did he do instead?

Islam Siddiqui, a former Monsanto lobbyist.

USDA - Corporate council:
Ramona Romero, who had been corporate counsel for another biotech giant, DuPont.

USAID - head:
Rajiv Shah, who previously worked in key positions for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a major funder of GMO agriculture research.

It shouldn't have been the worlds currency for a long time, I'm not a supporter of either party but Obama had this crap put in his lap when he took the job. Could he have done way better with it last term? Hell yeah he could! But he didn't really mess up that much either. Let's face it though when is the last time any president actually made a huge change and delivered on all the promises?
