Has anyone ever heard of this company Electric Supercharger Kits Turbo Super Charger Bolt On Superchargers they sell an electric supercharger kit for my sonic 1.4 L with the promise of incredible hp gains.

My friend's brother bought one of those once upon a time. Let's just say that it's more useful as a fan on a hot summer day than for any sort of horsepower gain. lol
(that's what my friend ended up doing with it. lol)

I'm was ditto on the scam notion when I saw the term "axial-flow". In layman's terms, that's just a 12v fan. Now 950 watts is pretty substantial for a fan, around 1.25hp. The problem is that a fan is just really sucky at compression.
The only decent attempt I've seen at an electric supercharger was a roots blower being turned by a trio of starter motors. And a good chunk of it's effectiveness was ruined by the weight of the extra batteries it needed to have carried around.

I've seen the supercharger with the three re-wound starter motors in a Sport Compact Car magazine article and it did actually work but as you mentioned it required separate heavy batteries and could only be run in a few short bursts before needing to recharge them.
The axial flow fan from E-ram won't do anything, but the fan they show on their web site now is not the one they were selling many years ago. The original still didn't help much but it was actually a pretty powerful unit and was powerful enough to hover it's own weight and accelerate skyward. Some of you may remember seeing that video. Also, if I recall, the original unit was much more expensive, around $500 I think.
The original E-ram fan blade looked more like a large ducted fan unit from an RC jet airplane, not the current unit's crappy stamped metal fan that belongs in a bathroom ceiling fan.
