European Backseat Headrest

currently stationed in germany so ill be going to a dealer some time this week to pick me up a pair be back in TX in 2 weeks and ill let ya'll know if they fit when i see my new sonic

Has anyone decided to make competent measurements yet?
I mean, it seriously isn't hard - I don't see WTF anyone has to "experiment" about.
Mine's being built and corbetts67 is in another country, what's anyone else's excuse?
Someone, for the love of god, go outside, press the tabs and yank a headrest.
make a competent, double-checked measure of:
- distance between outer edges of both poles
- distance between inner edges of both poles
- radius of the poles (distance across the bottom of the pole)
- length of the poles (they are longer, but we can measure how deep our seat holes are for accomodation
- Measure where the locking notches are and note their placement.
Sorry if I sound a little dickish, but honestly, this is the simplest modification someone could do, and it doesn't deserve any speculation whatsoever.
(Parts are easily removable and have the absolute simplest shape possible)

- distance between inner edges of both poles: 5 5/16 in.
- radius of the poles (diameter): 1 3/4 in.
- thickness of the poles: 9/16 in.
- length of the poles: 7 1/8 in.
- 1st Locking Notch (lowest): 4 7/8 in. from bottom
- 2nd Height Notch (middle): 5 3/4 in. from bottom
- 3rd Height Notch (highest): 6 9/16 in. from bottom
*All notches are on the right-hand side of the poles if you are in the car facing the rear window.
You can get your panties out of a bunch now...

Here the comparison US / EU measurements:
I think the slightly differences maybe up to the inch-metric conversions and reading accuracies.
But notice, that the EU headrests are not adjustable to more than one level, there’s only ONE notch on the RIGHT (Bogus check this again) side facing the rear window.
But to exclude all possibility of doubt you should wait for he experiences user ‘corbetts67’ announced above.

I think it being "a little off" is likely due to the inaccuracy of imperial measure.
Bogus if you were to have measured using metric measure I think they would be the same.
Things are looking up.
It's likely they use the same poles, just different lengths/notches and the brackets in the seats just because mass-ordering the parts is cheaper. ;-)
I'm thinking we can switch them out!
(Might just have to use a grinder and make extra notches in the poles)

so i went to a chevy dealer today in Regensburg Germany to pay and order the two headrests they called and there is only one in germany and they have to order more from south korea.. which will take approx. 6 weeks... so i go monday to pick the one up and they will ship the second one to me, ill be back in texas july 16 and will post when i get a chance if it works, just got back from afghan so its been a while since i have seen the family so it might take a few days. and happy 4th of july everyone!!! HOOAH!

Well... This may be interesting.
I have a friend that happens to have a Chevy Spark for the week. I noticed that the rear seat headrests were similar to the Euro Aveo headrests and decided to try it. Turns out they fit decently well. They do stick into your back when down a ridiculous amount, and it looks like they're thicker than the Euro ones, but they do fit in the holes.

HILARIOUS!
I missed this update, but was *just* on Chevy's website looking at the spark and saw the low headrests and was about to get pissed! lol
If they can put these headrests on the Spark, there's no excuse for the Sonic.
If we find out the Euro headrests work on the US Sonic I'm telling my dealer to have them put in my order or no deal.
It sticks out like crap because it's definitely made for another seat's contour... we need to see the euro ones.
(The curve on the mating side, etc)
ps, wouldn't mind if our interiors had the same 2-tone seat/dash treatment - STILL pissed that I can't get the orange dash with my inferno orange paint!
(WTF,.. the ONE color it goes with? Seriously? And on the Spark you can only get MATCHING 2-tone... imagine that!)

Good news and Bad news...
Good news went and picked up the head rest from the dealership here in germany today!
Bad news i got caught up in an investigation so i might not make it back to tx to see if it works on july 16 the latest they can keep me here is August 30th wish me luck...
and as pics before the european headrests are not as thick and when i sat in the aveo at the dealership today the headrests felt great! dont have a ruler so i used a dollar so you can get a better idea

Bad news i got caught up in an investigation so i might not make it back to tx to see if it works on july 16 the latest they can keep me here is August 30th wish me luck...
