The more expensive ones on the site include the ecu program which the guy says requires the stage clutch upgrade, his words not mine.....

Ah cool! Thanks for that! I got the other one and it does come with a recalibration for the ECU (tune for more power with the new exhaust obviously). But I also got a buddy in the parts dept. at my dealer who said the same thing about requiring the beefed up clutch, only though if your sonic was manufactured before Feb. 2014 I believe, don't quote me on it.
What I was trying to figure out was the difference between the 2 exhausts, and by the looks of your pics and video it looks like they are both Borla. The one I got though is branded differently. It has the Chevy "bowtie Performance" stamped onto the resonator and muffler. Other than that the construction looks pretty much the same like yours except I have dual tips out the muffler with little "Chevy bowties" stamped on the ends. I also thought these were stainless steel from Borla and all, and since GM used stainless for the stock exhaust system from what I've read.
Also I thought Borla discontinued the 1.4L turbo exhaust kit like summer of 2014? I really hope not that'd be stupid with how many Sonics are still being purchased and current owners who want future upgrades.
