Factory Screw Ups

The only thing i have noticed so far is that when i went to take my headlight bezels off the 4 chrome rings are each supposed to have one screw holding them in. however, only three of the four chrome rings were screwed in. not even remotely a big deal but only thing i have noticed. plus t/c is retarded.

I had to take my RS hatch to a dealerhip to have the line replaced for the rear window washer. I went to use it one day and it sprayed my ankles instead of the back glass. It probably broke last winter when my crappy washer fluid froze...
Anyway, back to the real screw-up: The dealer told me that the washer line to the rear is part of the main body harness and can not be ordered or replaced separately. So they changed the entire wiring harness on my year and a half old car for free (Yay, Warranty! :banana
. Who thought it was a good idea to run a fluid line IN the wiring harness? And where it was spraying out from was right next to the BCM so I guess I'm lucky that it didn't end worse... I guess this is more of an engineering screw up than a factory one but I felt like sharing anyway.

My white LT hatchback is marked LTZ on the rear. It's definitely not an LTZ. It's kind of unique.

Rear hatch misaligned. Very slight but it did rub the passenger side tail light. It was scraping the just top of it a bit. Noticed it while waiting for the paperwork to be finalized. Dealer fixed the alignment and replaced tail light with a new one. No worries to me. Every car has flaws. Toyota is at the top of the list for bodily injuries from accidents. You want safety you buy their upper tier brand and pay dearly. Corvette and a Suburban in the garage and now a Sonic. Not perfect but Chevy has served me well.

Filling up the Sonic and noticed the paint had chipped off the trunk right where it was scraping before. Dang it! Back to the dealer . . .
Also notice a couple of interior trim pieces not lined up exactly right. Kinda bumming me out. Hope the dealership takes care of it. Not a good sign on such a new car.

The right hand side of mine seems a bit Friday afternoon; it's back at the dealer to deal with a rattle and a couple of door alignment issues. Irritating but there's nothing else on the market in this configuration that fits into this small of a parking spot that's as nice to drive, so I'll live.

Mine do this too, I continually have to move them back to where they belong. I am hoping someone has a solution for this as well.

I wonder if someone who plasti dipped them may know. Maybe the paint holds it in place? ??

I noticed this when i plastidiped mine. I actually tried to remove it to just take the chrome off rather then plastidip but i couldnt get it off and figured it would look ugly. I plstidiped the chrome and the rubber piece together and i'm pretty sure it doesnt move now.
On a side note I noticed today that the area between the 2 doors where windows are is not paint. The reason I know this is because mine started bubbling and it seems its just a sticker of some kind. I can push it down and it will stick for a day or 2 and then it pops back out (and its soft). I'm guessing this is because of the heat but i think i'm gonna run to the dealer and get it taken care of because i'm just short of my 36k.

Thats good news about the plastidip, the wife was supposed to pick me up a can or two yesterday and "forgot" so I will get some soon I swear. White covering my chrome and rubber piece so they dont slide.
Those are just stickers, they come off with heat and effort. Depending on the color of your car they might look better off. I have blue topaz metallic and am considering pulling them off. The only thing holding me back is I don't know how it will look with the different tint levels of my windows 35 rear / 50 front.

The space between the doors that is black is just a sticker and if you remove it you will have body colored paint underneath. Lots of the black Sonic guys have peeled the sticker off because the shiny paint under it looks better.
