Bought my Sonic a few days ago. Coming from a 2007 Chevrolet Impala LT (totaled out from hail damage, but bought back for my Dad to drive, we call the Impala "Dimples, cause it looks like a golf ball since it is white, LOL), it is a bit of a change, a substantial downsizing, but I was looking for something fun to drive too. After looking at all my options in used cars, I could not find anything that would fit into my tight post college budget. I test drove 2 Sonics and fell in love with the hatchback. I think it looks cooler than the sedan. I definitely love the turbo with the 6-speed auto. It is faster than my Impala from 0-60mph by a full second. This little thing gets up and goes, I'm constantly thinking, "lay off the accelerator pedal cause ur gonna get a ticket." It doesn't take much throttle input to get up and go. I love that on the highway cruising, my Sonic doesn't have to downshift to climb hills (even with the AC on). Even though my new engine is more than 1/2 the size of the 3.5L V6 that was in my Impala, it definitely doesn't feel like it. All in all, I love this car! Its sporty, fun, and really shines in the sun. Now, I just have to find the perfect seating position for me behind the wheel... it took me a while with my Impala too.
The cyber gray was not a color I was even considering at first, I wanted summit white, but would have had to wait 6-8 weeks for mine to be built, which seems like eternity. I just so happened to stumble upon my baby by accident while at the dealer and I fell in love with the color after looking at it in the sun with it changing color slightly cause of the metallic chips in it.
Lastly, I did a lot of reading on this forum prior to making my purchase. This site is a great resource! I'm done rambling for now, lol
