First oil change! DIY/Walk-through.
With just under 1500 miles on the clock I figured it was time to change out that factory oil and see if anything came with it after engine break-in. Most importantly gets all the engine assembly lube out and anything else that might makes in way into a motor during slam together ship it out operations.

"All Jacked up"...and actually this is kind of a hard car to work on with jack stands, likes to have 3 wheels off the ground and you have to be careful where you put the stands because it likes to tip forward if you have the rear stands to far back.
Despite the fellow at the Auto Hobby Shop wanting my to put the stands right at my rocker panels, I went for the frame rails and all was well.
Pan and Plug
Its a Torx in the 40's range, which had me checking to make sure I wasn't going for a transmission drain plug or something. I like this design though, because the oil drains strait down rather than shooting out the back of the pan playing the guessing game with your catch pan of how far will it shoot.
The Filter
Actually isn't as messy as I imagined it would be changing from above, however some did drip down and later made a smell burning off.
The Bill
$2 bucks for the bay, $26 for the Mobil 1, $7 for the Filter, getting my hands dirty on my vehicle Priceless.
The only store that had a filter in stock was ORielly's...well Walmart claimed they had a fram but I couldn't find it and I've had a bad fram experiance. The WIX that OReillys had is made in USA and looks identical to what I took off.
The Mobil 1 I really didn't think would make much of a difference but the idle is so much quieter and smoother now....so I guess I'm stuck with Mobil 1 for the life of the motor The fuel economy improvement I've "seen" might be a placebo effect however.
Hey and when you drive your vehicle like in the brochure, Mobil 1 is the safety pin:
