I'm sure this has already been asked but I can't find anything supporting this. Does running a BOV have any performance advantage, like do the RPMs fall quicker after revving or is it just for sound

nope just sounds cool and better quality than the stock

and you can make the sound with a intake to well you will actually need one either way to make the woooosh

I personally would not get it. You get a whoosh sound fine with an intake plus the benefits of more air flow. Save your money unless you really want a loud whoosh.
