The fun and sun package costs $1550 and the cost of the engine and sunroof separately cost the same price. The turbo is $700 and the sunroof $850 so I don't think the price will really change. Never know till they release next years pricing info but I bet you the total car doesn't go up more than 2 or 3 hundred dollars.

I see what your talking about now. I know you wanted to wait for a '15 but did you think about buying a '14 right now. I just got a $2500 rebate on mine and you still still get one with the fun and sun with the discount. The sonic has a $2000 rebate and I got an extra $500 in conquest cash for having a competing volkswagon.

Why wait? Unemployed. Just moved to Michigan to get married and said bye bye to job in PA. When I do get a job, most likely will be down in Detroit suburbs, which is 50 miles away. So when I need the good gas mileage, I'll have funds. Still, I got car buying-itis on the brain now. Actually, it would be hard to find the exact options I want now anyway. According to Autotrader, there is exactly one car meeting my options available in the entire USA, and that is in Georgia.

On another note, today I was watching TV and a chevy commercial came out and the Sonic was shown for literally half a second and then the last part of the commercial they have all the cars in a row and the Sonic wasn't there! Why?

I thought I saw it and the Spark stage right (far left when viewing) but maybe not.
Chevy makes 80K Sonics a year and except when gas goes over $4 a gallon has a hard time selling them. To clarify, the dealers have a hard time selling them because Chevy does not build a unit unless there is a dealer already committed to buying it.
Malibus and Cruzes consistently sell in the 160K plus and 30K to 35K Corvettes are considered exceeding expectation territory.
But at least Chevy is as committed to the Sonic as it is to the Corvair. Who could ask for anything more?

I took photos and posted a thread about Blue Velvet Metallic, but when the moderator moved it from general to news forum it got lost. Actually posted same thread twice and both times lost. If I click on it it says invalid thread specified. Reported it twice, but still no thread. New color is MUCH darker. Almost black. 2015 Traverses are shipping with that color now.

Oh wow that new blue velvet color isn't a fun blue color at all...I thought just a little darker but that's dark :/ waaack. So glad I have the pretty blue topaz! And here I was hoping to have a Sonic RS/SS in blue topaz in the future...silver would be my next color of choice.
Oh and I like to feed my Sonic 89 octane from Chevron all the time. Price has been in between $3.75-3.80ish for the past months.

I do know where there is a RS manual in Blue Topaz with sunroof and Advanced Safety Package which seems to be a rare option. I dig the looks, but wonder if red isn't the best color for RS, given the interior stitching and accents?
In the end, I am likely to end up with 2015 red LTZ manual, and if I have to pay $850 for sunroof, then no. And since LTZ manuals are so rare, I'll likely have to order it.

I've ordered both my sonics. The first was a turbo ltz sedan in topaz blue so I feel your pain there. I also ordered my new dusk edition and even ordering I got a great deal and I sprung for the advanced safety package as well. Don't regret specifying that option at all. I hope everything works out for you.

I recently got my '14 Dusk. I had to order it because no dealers anywhere in my area even knew about it. I bought mine through Gearhart Chevy in Denville, NJ. They are very good to deal with. It actually took abotu 6 weeks to get it being a factory order. However the timing was great because when I went to pick it up I got $2500 in rebates on top of the $1000 off MSRP. I actually had to pay nothing upon signing the papers to drive it home. I previously bought a cyber gray '12 Sonic LTZ from them which I've been very happy with. Still have that, it's my wife's car. The Dusk is mine, to save some gas money instead of driving my pickup to work. Gas bills were starting to kill me at 15 mpg, filling up every other day. The Dusk is an incredble looking car as an upgrade to an LTZ. I'm sure you'll like it. I've gotten many compliments on how great it looks. Sorry, but I haven't got around to taking any pictures yet.

The Fun and Sun package looked tempting but I eventually passed as the only captive sedan one within a half day's drive of me was dragon green and missing the rearview camera. Seems as though it's a lot easier to get in the hatchback.
