So that was quite the race today. If you haven't been to a GRC event I highly suggest that you go to one sometime. It is really a fun race to be at.
As far as the Sonic goes: Pat Moro is a great guy. Definitely a grassroots team with some factory backing. The car seemed to be having some teething issues. Didn't look like the suspension was quite tuned in to the bumpy stuff yet, but for its first outing it wasn't bad. During the seeding/practice round the thing got unbelievably rich after about a lap and was limping around sounding like it was blown up while spewing a 3-4 foot flame out the tail pipe. They seemed to fix the tuning for the heats, but he was still taking it easy and feeling it out. On the starts it was clearly down on power or just simply saddled with a clutch that wasn't quite up to snuff. Definitely needs some development (and some rear wing to fit in with the rest of them) but a good start for sure.
Also, it appears that they're running the well proven 2.0t Ecotec drag motor with a bit smaller turbo and more anti-lag. This thing was very very loud and American sounding out there. By far the loudest car in the field. While on the limiter before the start the stands were vibrating from the exhaust. It was amazing.
