When I filled up yesterday I wasn't going to re-set the l/100 km calculator until the next tank...but I couldn't resist...it was showing 8.4, so I hit it on the way home today, 104-5 kmh, showing 6.2l/100 km. That's 45 Imp mpg (38 US). So I slowed down to 94-96 kmh and was getting 5.4l/100 (52 Imp mpg or 42.5 US mpg). Tail wind yes, but not a strong one. Right around 0C (32F)...could it be? If that's a sign of things to come...big smile time. I know it won't average that...but it should break into the 7's then I hope. Oooo...things are getting exciting now! lol

Getting 6.2 at 95 is real good. Can't believe how slow 100 feels, and did 90 the other day - felt like I was crawling.
I'm very curious to see how we'll do once things warm up more, and we get off the winter gas. Wish I also knew where I could get ethanol-free gas.

Hey Guys. Another Cannuck here and I just got my new Sonic. I don't live in Manitoba though, I'm in the outskirts of Toronto.
Its the 1.8 MT as well, so hopefully we can all start getting some better mileage once the car gets enough kms on it. Summer time temps will bring the better gasoline for fuel efficiency!

Now into my second winter with my 1.8l LT - can say that higher speeds kill fuel mileage real quick. Daily commuting in Calgary nets about an average of 8.3-8.7 l/100km - on the highway at 100kph usually drops that down into the low 7's or lower, 90kph will give better even fuel mileage. Even driven hard, my average on a tank in city driving won't go above 9.0-9.2 - some 20% better than the HHR I had previously. Did a 200 km highway stint with 4 people in the car at 135kph and saw an average just around 8 l/100km - can't complain about that.
