I've had my 2014 Sonic LT manual since I bought it brand new. It currently has 167,000+ miles and runs great. And those are not city miles as I live in Alaska and this little thing has taken me to Deadhorse and all in between. I have had one long standing issue though- every winter when the temps drop my brakes go soft, I mean I have to pump the pedal to get them back. I get them bled and they work just fine for a few weeks then I have to get it done again if it's still cold. They do not do this in the warmer months.

Impressive mileage! For the brakes, try using high-performance brake fluid for better cold resistance, or check for moisture or small leaks in the system.
