The easy answer to the dirt and spray is as simple as a diffuser. Straight line the air right out the underside. But a diffuser is pretty well useless with out a solid under body. Then you fight heat issues and hydroplaning. After this is all said and done I'm going to end up with a time attack car and a street attack daily. Lol

Am I the only one that likes the idea of a stock spoiler delete?

I've had mine off a few times, and I think it looks cool in a low key way. I'd love to make a molding to just cover where the rock spoiler was mounted.

Are you kidding? This coming from a huge modder trying to make it go faster, & if you feel that way why does your car look like it does anyways? All I'm saying is that I absolutely love the pro rally look & a huge wing would make my car perfect imho, that smallass stock one is embarrassing!

The dirt is coming up from under the car because of vaccuum from the factory shape. A wing on top will pull more things up.

You need to have a way for the air to exit under the car further back away from the car... Or make the roof push further down the the back.


But a big spoiler will look cool

See, I'm not the only one that thinks this way, big wings just exudes racing, coolness, & performance! All my recent last cars had big stylish wings on the back, so I guess I'm just too used to them. Something is missing if I don't see it everyday, so if I can have one I most certainly will lol!

If you were trying to be sarcastic, it sure didn't sound like it, but you were so my bad I guess, no worries. Yeah, earlier I said that the Sonic wasn't a damn race/sports car, but modding mainly for appearance is way safer than trying to change everything internally. Everyone has different tastes, but if you bought the Sonic for outright speed/power than you're sorely mistaken as it would be a very hard & expensive road to travel. If I wanted a sports car or something very fast from the factory, I would've bought something else for damn sure. It's good for what it's got, but trying to make a tiny 1.4L engine a giant killer is not my cup of tea, as I like my warrenty, MPG, & street/highway legality of it all. I plan on keeping this car for a very long time, so longevity is high on my list. To each his/her own though, you wanna constantly change parts then be my guest, it's made to be low maintenance from the factory, so I'll stick with it.

I kno they make that cheapo 3m stick on thing they sell on ebay but that's hardly noticible, I though about buying the front air damn one too...but idk because lowered car issues.. and preloader, idk about spoiler delete, but everyone has their tastes, if u successfully do this, I know a few will follow you!!

You would need a spoiler that let air under and over ... So the kambak that's on the car will still help but the spoiler will create a bit of downforce and still look good

you could make it look more like the spoiler on the Z06 Vette. I personally like the 2015 'vette spoiler and it's not at all ugly.

I've actually been strongly considering tackling this same project but with Focus ST spoiler design. For materials and how-to videos, check out www.easycomposites.co.uk. Seems to me that not only do these guys really know their stuff but their pricing is amazing. I'm emailing them now to get more info on their kits in regards to this concept.
