Forum Mods: This continuing problem of accessing this forum is unpleasant and frankly, I see the time coming when I will quit trying. I do not have this problem on other car forums so it is time for you all to grow up and fix it.

Thanks guys. Wondering if it made much of a difference, if I can use it on my automatic and a part# if somebody has one since I didn't see our car listed. I'll search around on Preloaders posts. He's great with providing details.

if you want your car to stay reasonably reliable, I'd steer away from a nitrous application, even the little shot size that was brought up earlier. By no means am i trying to be a debbie-downer though lol these cars make torque better than they make hp so i'd say expect 185-190hp with 220-ish torque.

oh, and do yourself a favor and DO NOT get a trifecta tune, go with EFI Live tune via BNR (Bad News Racing) i am not an affiliate of BNR or EFI Live tuning software, I pass information based solely on results etc., im not even tuned so nobody can say im only saying that cause i have their tune or got a good deal etc. lol (yes thats happened)

that being said, although my car isn't tuned, i have seen both tunes at work, on the same car.

If you want a LSD for the auto PM me. The wavetrac or Mfactory units won't work

I have Wavetrac part # 57.309.132WK installed and it is working well.

Carrier bearings can not be reused and Preloader did post those part #s early in his thread.

spray wears the motor down regardless of tuned right or not. yeah it makes the car go faster, but on these cars, realistically, its not the best of ideas.

That's what a lot of people think and it's proven to be untrue 100% , nitrous is no more dangerous or wearing on an engine than a turbo or supercharger. Tuning is the only wearing factor when it comes to FI or going all motor. My best buddy had the same stock engine in his car for 5 years sprayed a 2 stage 200 shot thru it not one issue every thing was a beast.

Why for these engines it's not a good idea?

Sounds like a difference of opinions that won't be reconciled in a few posts. Too many variables. Either could be "proven true" with examples of success or failures. Sounds fun I know that!

Hi yall, I would like to join in this discussion. I'm new to the forum. I too own a 2013 RS and want to add power or unleash this little car's full potential. What I want to know is this... I would like to add a cold air intake and replace the entire exhaust. I also want to do a tune to maximize HP. But, if my budget only allows me to do one thing at a time, what should I do first, bolt-on parts or a tune?

The tune.

Because the Tune is the biggest bang for the buck... but also because the stock tune deliberately prevents anything else you do from giving you more power. It even prevents driving in cold weather from giving you more power than driving in warm weather.

You could also do a couple (nearly) free mods; namely removing the snorkel that's preventing your intake from getting all the air it could be getting, bypassing the bypass, and putting a screen in your intake tube, and finally switching to 93 octane fuel. Those all stack with the tune, and you'll see almost as much performance increase out of them as you will from getting a new intake or a new exhaust.
