Long story short…. my 2012 LTZ 1.4L MT has been through the wringer… after purchasing at 175k miles in august, my husband and I have replaced the entire cooling system, valve cover and gasket, serpentine belt, spark plugs, battery, cooling fan, purge valve, intake manifold, and the clutch system up to the flywheel. Pretty much everything in the vehicle is new BESIDES the transmission…. after what we believe to be a shitty master/slave cylinder job, our car has gone down once again after not even 1k miles put on it since the clutch system was replaced…. the car has been up about 5 weeks since we’ve had her…
We were driving like normal and out of nowhere when my husband shifted into 6th gear, the car completely lost power. No sounds. No grinding. Nothing. Just completely lost the ability to gain power from the motor to the transmission…. when the car is off we can put it into each gear without issues, when the car is running we can put the car into gear as well… however, the car won’t move. there’s no engagement… not really sure what’s going on here… no codes either..
We’re about ready to set this thing on fire after pouring our heart and soul into this plastic piece of ****, but we just can’t throw the towel in yet…. too much has been invested in this car.
This forum and the csmans website has been our bible for the past 6 months. We have learned pretty much everything from y’all so thanks for that. Everything has been wonderful so far so figured after all this time lurking we’d finally post and get some insight.
Transmission? Clutch system? Shift linkage? This is what we’ve narrowed it down to.
PLEASE help us lol we’re poor and can’t take another loss.
