HELP!!! Please. Radio major issue

Hello all, I currently have a 2013 Sonic ltz.
The past month or so I have had this issue where when starting the car. The radio starts turning up the volume to the maxx. It is the touch screen mylink system. I have tried disconnecting the battery, pulling the radio fuse, checked the wiring on the back side of the unit for loose wires and still nothing. I have searched everywhere for a solution as currently I have to remove the radio fuse just to be able to drive the car because the radio maxes out almost immediately everytime if not. It is the strangest thing I have ever seen.
Even trying to turn the volume down the stereo will turn up the volume faster than you can turn it back down. Please help if anyone knows any idea what I can do to get this fixed.
I absolutely love this car but I am getting super frustrated at this issue. Any help will be much appreciated.

Maybe a damaged or stuck volume button on the steering wheel?
Have you check that to see if the upper + side moves both in and back out when pressed?

Yes, I was thinking that at first when it had started but all steering wheel buttons seem to function properly. Just tried it again this morning to continue diagnosis for a solution but so far I can not seem to pin point exactly why its happening.
I thought about swapping out the mylink with a new stereo but I am worried it may not fix the issue if it turns up to be wiring potentially.
Thinking of trying to find another mylink stereo from a salvage yard and swap and see if the issue persist. I have looked up the issue several times and contacted a chevy dealer and they were not interested in helping so...

Note that if you swap in a salvage or even anew replacement GM radio that it will need to be programmed to be accepted by your cars VIN embedded in the radio. So there is the cost of that also. There may be a way to do that yourself but requires buying some minor cost hardware and being savvy with use of a laptop computer and connections . .. . software. . . etc.

What about disconnecting the Mylink screen and just using the steering wheel control or disconnecting the steering wheel control and using the manual dash volume control . .. just to try eliminating one or the other?

Ah, I knew it would be too easy to swap out.

I could probably do it once I figure out the programming.
I will try out disconnecting those this evening and let you know how it goes.
